![]() So I'm noticing 'most' people generally use ratings for the purpose of creating auto-playlists with ease later on. Feeling the need to mention that I'm very much aware that a 'pointless' feature to me also happens to be a priceless tool for somebody else.Įdit: I posted this without reading the replies above. Maybe there are interesting advantages to those features that I might have missed. My most played are effectively my favourites, no?Īnyway looking forward to the replies- if there'll be any. Lastly, just to touch a little on the love/favourite feature.I truly have no use for that either, since in MB, I can easily set up a randomly-shuffled auto-playlist that collects the top 21 most-played songs. I like that it's small and very easy to maintain (not implying you can't maintain a million tracks). And no, while young, I didn't start listening to music yesterday). I doubt my library will ever surpass the 1000th mark (currently at 350 tracks. Is it just for the sake of completion? That I may understand, but still, is it worth it if your library now consists of tens (hundreds? since one user mentioned having a million songs to his collection) of thousands of songs that you don't even like? While I'm on this point, I should also comment that I've never quite understood why a person would download a complete album just to skip the other accompanying songs every time. You find people giving a song a thumbs down or 0.5 star rating?Like bruh, what is it still doing in your library then.Just delete it at that point smhīut I suppose those who like downloading complete sets of albums can find such a tool useful. ![]() I've always told myself that it's either I like a song or I don't and if I don't, it simply doesn't belong in my collection. I don't rate any of my music and that's because I don't see the point tbh. I have the same smart playlists set up in GoneMAD that I do in musicbee so ensuring that the ratings and playcounts are sync'd is essential. It's safer to do it this way while driving rather than accessing Panoscrobbler to love a track directly. If I change the rating of a song in goneMAD, the next syncthing sync will pull those ratings into musicbee and love the tracks on last.fm automatically In GoneMAD I have swipe gestures set up on the now playing screen, swipe up = increase rating, swipe down = decrease rating If I love a song on last.fm it will automatically rate it at 3.5 stars and will sync the rating down to GoneMAD I use syncthing to keep my library in sync with my phone and have musicbee set to write ratings to the tag metadata. ![]() Auto uprate all loved songs (if Love = L then enter value 3.5 in rating) Auto love all songs that are rated greater than 3 (if rating < 3 then enter Value L in Love)ģ. Just enter the artists you love and we will view a chart. Know your music personality, and discover interesting facts about your music taste. Find out your favorite genres and moods, and get music recommendations that will help you discover new music. Auto rate all unrated songs (if rating value = ^$ then enter value 3)Ģ. Music Taste Analyzer tool analyzes your favorite artists to help you discover your music taste. In musicbee I have 3 Advanced search and replace rules set up that are always on for my whole Library.ġ. I listen on musicbee at home and GoneMad on my phone while I'm out. I was thinking of appending a word to the tags so I know what the old name used to be, something like RATING_UNUSED and RATING WMP_UNUSED.I use last.fm loves as my primary method of rating music. I just need to know which tags it DOES see so that I know what needs to be renamed, and what I should rename them to. My goal is to rename these tags to something MusicBee won't see. So again, if a song has RATING WMP with a value of 5, that song will show up as having 5 stars in MusicBee. To be clear, "consideration" means it rates the songs based on the tags it sees. So far, I've found that it takes RATING and RATING WMP into consideration, as listed above. Now, I made a wishlist request for musicbee to NOT take those tags into consideration, which ultimately proved to be an unpopular opinion, so instead, I'm looking to rename those tags, because I DON'T want MusicBee to take them into consideration in my library. If you have a song that has a tag RATING, for example, and the value is 5, that song will be given 5 stars in MusicBee. The way MusicBee works, it automatically rates songs in the library that have rating tags. Can someone please tell me which rating tags MusicBees takes into consideration so I can track down the tags and rename them to something that it won't take into consideration?įor the record, I'm surprised I had to explain what "into consideration" meant in the context of my wishlist request thread here ( ) considering that was literally the entire point of the thread, but since it's still somehow unclear, and since this is a new topic which I was suggested to post in this section, I will explain it as best as I can muster.
